Deaconess Patricia Ann Hunt was reared in a Christian home, accepted Christ as her personal Savior at a very early age and was baptized at Concord Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York. She later joined Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church also In Brooklyn, New York and was nurtured under the leadership of the late Dr. Robert Laws.
Deaconess Hunt grew up in Brooklyn New York, attending school there through high school. She left Brooklyn to attend Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA and returned to Brooklyn upon graduation. She worked a brief period as a sociologist in upstate New York at a state prison hospital for the criminally insane. Always looking for a challenge, she joined the United States Navy as an officer in 1974, filled a variety of positions and lived in many states and countries such as the following to name a few.

While in the Navy, Deaconess Hunt attended The University of Puerto Rico and obtained a Masters Degree in Education, specializing in Guidance and counseling. Additionally she earned an Associates degree in Theology from Christian Life School of Theology at New Hope. Deaconess is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Christian Counseling from Andersonville Seminary and upon completion will also result in a National Christian Counselors Association License.
Deaconess Hunt retired from the United States Navy, as a commander, in 1994 after serving her country for twenty years. She and her family moved to Powder Springs and joined New Hope in 1994.
Upon retirement, Deaconess Hunt began her second career, working with young children. She worked at a child development center as a teacher and assistant director before resigning and going to work for New Hope Missionary Baptist Church as the Church Secretary. While in this position, Pastor Steed shared with her, his vision to open a church school. Deaconess Hunt labored with his vision for several years and in June of 2000, New Hope opened its doors to the children in the community.
Deaconess Hunt was the Executive Director of The Village at New Hope, a child development center, a Christian Academy and a summer camp for eight years, and in December 2008, she returned to her previous position as Church Secretary.
Deaconess Hunt is very active in her church and has been a trustee, church treasurer; a member of Pastor’s Aide, Women’s Fellowship and taught Sunday School. She is presently a member of the Board of Directors and Deaconess.
Fulfilling her desire to empower and mentor young girls and women, she established WE ROCK Ministry (Women who are Elevated, Righteous, Obedient and Chosen for the Kingdom.)
Deaconess Hunt has been married to Deacon Carl Hunt for 21 years and is mother to one son, Brandon.
